Plum Zurna – End July 2023

Zurna variety is a Siberian plum which are a large-fruited variety that is well-suited for northern growing regions. They are resistant to cold winters and unpredictable spring weather, and they produce high yields of sweet, flavourful fruit. Siberian plums are an interspecific hybrid of four different plum species: Cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera), Japanese plum (Prunus salicina), Ussurian plum (Prunus ussuriensis) and Chinese plum (Prunus simonii).

This variety is medium early, and it is partially self-fertile, so it produces crops even without the presence of pollinator. If there is a pollinator nearby, the harvest will be higher.

If left longer the flesh turns more red. They are quite sweet for a late July ripening plum.
