Plum ‘Avalon’ harvested today 19th Aug 2015

Plum ‘Avalon’ is described as a mid season, but this year its being harvested now. The taste of this is a definite improvement on a Victoria, it has a sweetness and a complex but excellent flavour. It is not as heavy cropping as a Victoria, which should stop broken branches that you get with a Victoria, especially in grown on a dwarfing rootstock.
