Old Grape vine saved – I hope

As if only by luck I happened to visit an elderly lady, on the very day a guy was digging up and binning her recently deceased husbands grape vines. He used to be a master vitner, and was a purchasing rep for a large wine importer. He used to tour the vineyards of Germany, Italy and France. This was over 30 years ago, and he collected half a dozen grape vines that he planted in his open garden. He used to do talks all over the country on wine, and this was one of his demo’s. The variety is not yet known, as it died with him. However if I had been a few minutes later they would have gone. So I managed to save the best, and quickly brought it home and potted it up. The roots were none existent, but it has go 2 options, live or die.
