Black Walnuts (Juglans Nigra) are ripe – End October 2014

This year it has been a massive crop of Black Walnuts (Juglans Nigra). Its now the end of October and they are beginning to fall. But watch out if one of those hits you, or the roof of your car, you will soon know about it. Weighing in at 90 grams they are rock hard. You have to leave them for the husk to start rotting, to make it softer and easier to then get at the nut inside.
