Pear (Pyrus domestica) MOSKOVSKAJA

MOSKOVSKAJA is a Russian variety and translates to Moscow in English. It is a very early pear variety, of a medium size, and it has got good taste with ample juice. However as with many early pears they do not store, and they need eating straight away as they can go mushy. It is supposed to be partly self-fertile, but other early flowering varieties near by would be beneficial. In good sunny years one side has a red hue to the skin.

Plum (Prunus) – Sharky’s Plum® Black

Sharky plum black is a novelty with an unusual fruit shape. They resemble a shark’s tooth in shape, that is it has a little titty at the bottom.

However our variety seems to have lost this phenomena, and it is just roundish. In fact it looks more like a plum variety called HOLLYWOOD.

The fruits are however medium sized and are still edible and very tasty. The flesh is juicy, sweet and aromatic. It is harvested in early August and is self-fertile. The leaves and bark all have a red hue.
