The Mice are hungry round here – Watch Out

I have an apple tree thats been trying to grow for over 3 years. Now OK its on M27 a very dwarfing rootstock, so it might take a bit longer to get going. Yes it was bare rooted, so there will be a bit of a setback, and yes it was growing in a grassy area.

But I thought now was the time to dig it up, take some scions and do a regraft. Well would you believe it. I had no need to dig it out, it just came away in my hands. This is the first time I have ever seen this happen, it looks like a beaver has had a go at it. It has been gnawed through.
