Spring 2025 Red Fleshed Apple Flowers
This year has been a very good year for blossoms. Our Apples and Pears have been covered, a magnificent display. So I thought of would give a few sample photos of some red-fleshed apple flowers. I hope you can see how I have tried to sort them into Pink heading to almost Red (but not quite). Obvioulsy camera and display can change the colours, but these are exactly as take with a mobile phone.
We start off with Mountain Rose, which is a yellow/green skinned apple with usually pink flesh. Sometimes it can be red, with the red showing through the yellow skin. Tastes fruity with a mild acidic sweetness.

Then its Alaska Pink which is yellow/green skinned and a red blush on the sunny side. Used for eating and cooking, also used for cider. Can be a bit sharp.

Then Redlove Konlhaas which comes from the ‘Redlove’ brand. It is sweet-tart ideal for eating and cooking. The flesh is not all pink/red but a marbled effect. Resistant to scab which is a bonus.

Then its Redlove Era and it is another from the Redlove brand. One of the first be released onto the market. Good fruity flavour and sweet and tart. Flesh is pinky red marbled, and it is resistant to scab which is a bonus.

And then Redlove Sirena is yet another from the Redlove brand. It has a resistance to browning when cut. Supposedly very resistant to scab.

Finally its Bakran which originates from a village in Iran. The trees do not get infested and the juicy sweet-and-sour fruit contains more anti-oxidants compared to regular apples. People of Bakran use the red-fleshed apple in different traditional foods and jams and as dried fruit treats.
