Autumn 2012 National collection of Hickories at Cockington Arboretum, Toquay, Devon

This was very much a big disappointment as I will explain.

One could not go wrong, the map shows where everything is ?? However it would appear that the National Hickory collection does not exist at all/any more. In talking to the head gardener, who seemed totally disinterested, could not shed any light onto the situation. Apart from highlighting that there were lots of redundancies in the park due to the council cuts, and nobody knows whats going on any more.
