A common Walnut (Julans Regia) fell over.

After a period of over 5 years this common +100 year old Walnut (Julans Regia) has been starting lean over. It started to be severe approx 3 months ago. Well fimely after the tree had leafed we had a weekend of strong wind that was just too much for it, and it finally fell over during the night.

Note the inner base of the tree was rotten, so there would have been no chance of saving it. I will be de limbing the small branches just to see if any of the larger branches and trunk can be saved for furniture making.
