Spring 2025 Best Display of Apples, Pears and Quinces Flowers
This year has been one of the best years for blossom. Our Apples, Quinces and Pears have been covered, a magnificent display. So I thought I would give a few sample photos of some of the best display of flowers. There is no particular order.
The first one is Apple Crispin, a cross between the ‘Golden Delicious‘ and the ‘Indo‘. It is aromatic, sweet, and sharp, with juicy flesh. It is suitable for eating on its own, juicing, drying, or cooking .

Followed by a Quince called Gamboa, which is an old Portuguese favourite. The flowers are quite large with a hint of pink.

And a Pear tree called Aurora which is a relatively modern dessert pear with outstanding flavour and good storage life considering its quite early.

And another Pear called Golida, its fruit is sweet and generally very balanced. It can be quite heavy cropping.

And Pear called Aromata de Bystrica which produces high-quality fruit with a good yield. It’s regarded as a winter pear. The flesh is cream colour that is juicy, sweet, with an intense aroma, that is very good for eating.

2nd from last we have an Apple called Jafra producing beautiful orange striped fruit. It is an ideal garden variety; largely disease resistant, regular cropping and easy to grow.

And finally a Pear called Russkaja Krasavica. As the name suggests, it originated in Russia. It is very disease resistant and it is more suitable for the organic garden. Very frost resistant.
