How not to tie in Roses

Whilst out with the family at a very large park near Coventry a few weeks ago, I happened to notice the method used to tie in roses. As always on the look out for different methods of doing things I thought this was a bit ify.

These nylon ties are very strong and can easily strangle the branch and create girdling. The wire tie end has also not been cut off, so that unknowing people can pull them even tighter. Not only that but they are also not bio degradable. At the end of the season you have to cut the tie off, as there is no means of adjustment to allow for expansion of the branch whilst it is growing. Also in then trying to cut them off they are so tight damage will occur to the branch.
