Cherry Aphids or Blackfly (Myzus cerasi)

Got to get out tonight spraying me cherry trees. It only seems certain varieties are susceptible. Even thou it is reported that they do no harm and I quote from RHS “Distorted foliage on cherries is unsightly on ornamental trees but does not stop cherry trees from flowering or bearing fruit” This is slightly untrue, in that if the tree is only a youngster of less than 3 years. The sap being drawn out from the tree by the aphids, can in actual fact kill it.
