It works by applying a living bacterium that is specifically antagonistic to fire blight growth, Bacillus subtilis, strain BD170, directly to flower buds and through blossoming at specific intervals.<\/p>\n<p>It is safe to us AND to bees and the only danger is there are some people who when exposed to large doses can develop an allergy to it. I repeat large doses as in working in the laboratory growth areas and extended exposure, so if one is specifically allegeric-susceptible to &#8216;common soil micro-organisms&#8217;, I would avoid being the sprayer or breathing the spray.
