The yellow-fleshed plum variety ‘Tipala’ is a rarity among plums. It ripens in late July and has a sweet flavor. It also shows a high tolerance to the Sharka or plum pox virus (PPV) which is a serious disease of stone fruit.<\/p>\n

It is a different shaped plum, and more elongated than a chicken egg. It is yellow skinned, which turns red from the stalk end down. It has bright yellow flesh and the stone clings.<\/p>\n
