Well I have the need to graft (not budding) some apples, but I have run out of rootstocks?? What do I do. ??<\/p>\n

I know I have some 2 year old grafted potted trees, with no home to go to.<\/p>\n

The actual top below the graft joint was cut off. Note the surface is at an angle, so rain runs off.<\/p>\n

The scion and rootstock were cut so the cambium layers match<\/p>\n

Then the joint was tightly sealed with grafting tape.<\/p>\n

Also the tip of the scion was sealed to prevent drying out. This tree and pot were put into a sealed plastic bag, top prevent drying out. The sun and heat can be quite intense this time of year, and placed in the semi shade. Keep checking regularly to see if it wants watering. In the space of 2 weeks or so, you should see the buds breaking. Then only gradually unseal the plastic bag bit by bit every day, to gradually acclimatize it to natural environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
