The trees begin to bear at a young age, are resistant to cracking, and the blossoms are very tolerant of frost. Roundish oval. Firm, not very fibrous, very juicy, good quality, slight almond flavour.<\/p>\n

Ambrunes (Picota type) Cherries 1st July 2022<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Ambrunes (Picota type) cherries naturally separate from their stalks when picked, leading them to be referred to as stalkless. The true variety comes from the west of Spain and is protected by a Denomination of Origin (DO) certificate, providing European Union, Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status. To use the Picota name, cherries must be grown and packaged within the specified geographical area covering the farms within the Valley of the Jerte. Any Picota grown outside that are is called Ambrune<\/em>s<\/p>\n
