Still gathering Apples from our Orchard – End Nov/Dec 2023
There are still apples to be gathered in our orchard. They are very much ripe and juicey, just right for storing. Also they have not been attacked but the birds, earlier varieties get pecked to pieces, as soon as ripe.
Our first variety, is called Camspur or Red Chief. It is a Red Delicious cross, of medium to large sized fruit. In addition to high yield and excellent taste of the fruit it stands out in particular, very attractive appearance.

The 2nd variety is an apple called Gala Shniga. It is the latest ripening variety among the gala varieties. It is the redest and the largest of all Gala fruits. Normal harvesting period is end Aug/beginning September, but our tree the fruit hang until the end of November. They have the same flavour as other Gala varieties, and it is an indispensable choice for customers who are looking for Gala flavour with its storage strength.

Our 3rd variety is called Florina, it is classed as a winter variety, which was bred in France and registered in 1988 as a multiple hybrid of varieties. The fruits are medium-sized, and more elongated than round. When ripe the skin is bright red on the sunny side, with its flesh being white, sweet, crumbly and moderately juicy. Fertility is moderate, producing medium to large fruit. Its peak ripeness for eating begins in November and lasts until March. It is quite resistant to fungal diseases.
