A soldier Nicolas Puy brought the variety from along the Black Sea region (Ukraine) to France. Also known as Colapuis or Colapuits. Colapuy grows moderately strong and is largely tolerant to major fungal diseases (scab and powdery mildew).

 

The fruits are small to medium sized, slightly flattened, cylindrical / spherical apples with a  red blush. They are delicious from the beginning of December after a period of storeage.
