I thought I would try and beat this summers drought, by saving my own rain water from off my stables roof.
Just a couple of 1000 litre IBC containers, a rain water diverter, and some pipework to connect the 2 tank together.
It just seems so easy. First problem drilling hole into the top corner of the IBC tank to take the rain water hose. My arms are not long enough to fit into the tank lid and then diagonally to the corner, to hold the plastic tank connector. So I had to drill another hole in the middle of the straight side of the tank. This now comes onto problem number two. The plastic in that area was extra thick, which meant that there was not enough thread of the tank connector sticking inside of the tank to fit the locking nut and sealing washer on with. So throw away the sealing washer, and it just fits.
