In my travels, I came across a local cherry tree that is well over 30 ft tall. Every year it has masses of 1cm diameter fruit on, but normally the blackbirds strip every single one. But for some reason this year they have left them alone.
The tree is not a Wild cherry (Prunus avium) or Gean as fruits of them are red, and it is not a Bird cherry (Prunus padus) as the fruits do not hang in bunches. So the chances are its a cultivated variety ??.
Well anyhow the old lady who owns the tree, has always thought they were poisonous. I managed to talk her round into letting me have some of the cherries.
Well does the following looks good, nice and tasty. And I am not sharing it.
