Fargesia murielae (umbrella bamboo) – Flowering and Seeding

Fargesia murielae (umbrella bamboo) – Now flowering and seeding here in the UK. Native to the mountains of central China introduced into the USA by Ernest Henry Wilson in 1913. It grows in large clumps (non evasive) and is relatively slow in spreading. Life expectancy is 80 -100 years before it flowers and then dies. Supposedly when it starts flowering all others should also die throughout the whole of the world.
